Excited about the new Tilak Mridanga. It is a bit lighter than the regular similar size Balaram Mridanga, sound wise (after tuning), it is about the Same as Balaram mridanga. With the Allen wrench provided it was easy to tune it.
Had bought my second Mridanga from Krishna store. The first one was a hybrid (skin head and fiber body ( which lasted about year and half and the big head broke. So got a supposedly long lasting ( I heard would last Life time as this Tilak mridanga is made of fiberglass body and heads too.)
The mridanga showed up in two days, packaging seemed to work out good there was no damage. However the $50 Shipping tag took a little bit to get over. I wish there were other cheaper options to ship out, I would not have minded another 5 days of wait time.

Eventhough I am from India and started going to New York Temple since 1971 and later to Evanston/ Chicago Temple there is a need for Krishna Store.
You don't have to depend on Rathayatra booths or someone going to India. I remember as a teenager sending cash to LA Temple for something or other all the time. I ordered the children's drum for my nephew and some of the older devotees will help me put it together for tuning. Even non devotees can appreciate theses items.
Near our Temple are Indian stores. We have also have Hindu temples. But this is the most practical, cheapest and easiest way to buy. And the devotees working there seem to care. I don't like to endorse anything. Support such devotee businesses so we have them. PremNarayan das

Title: WE LOVE KRISHNA
My experience is a very pleasant one. I ordered two books, an activity book for my 4 yr old daughter and the Bhagavad Gita(as it is, without the recent changes to translations). My four yr old loves both books and when its time for her bed, she prefers me to explain the pictures to her in the Bhagavad Gita instead of regular books. She also loves the Little Krishna Cartoons.
I had to email the krishnastore because the Bhagavad Gita was late arriving.. but I trust Krishna knew this. my reply was full of respect and love, and within a few days my book arrived by post. Thank you. The Activity book for children arrived from India(what a suprise) it was especially wraped in padding and I felt the love and divine energy being transmuted with the respect that is given to these holy books.
